Most of the bread recipes I've tried from her site just don't taste that great. Bread should taste like bread, not like protein and egg whites. The solution I found is to take your favorite bread recipe and substitute the flour for 1:1 ratio of vital wheat gluten and ground whole oats. Keeps the protein high (Vital Wheat Gluten is 75% protein), has good flavor. The bread is a bit chewy, and I'm still working out how to crisp it up a bit, but it is far better than this.

If you're carb conscious, lettuce is another great surrogate for the standard burger bun.
