I am almost done with week two - and this guy is correct. I do not believe in this diet truly. It is not optimal for bulking... I have not lost lean mass but have dropped down 1.5% body fat. I am actually gaining lean mass. I was at 195 at 9.7% body fat. I am now at 194 at 8.1% body fat. To everyone ripping on the diet (i did too) : if you wanna cut down and not lose muscle.. this will work. Just make sure you modify the diet so that you get at least maint. level cals =D Try it before you bash on it.. it is working for me

Mmason, any diet where you're at a caloric deficit, but keep your protein macro up to .8 to 1 gram per lb of LBM will maintain muscle mass. You're not gaining lean mass if you're at a caloric deficit. Muscles need additional calories to grow. My bet is that you're not measuring body fat correctly.

Agreed. A lot of people don't actually understand how you build muscle. ALL you need is to be in positive nitrogen balance meaning enough protein, enough sleep, and obviously create the demand by tearing the muscle fibres in the gym. that's all there is to it.
